NEW PROGRAM: A LITTLE HELPER FOR CAPTIONING

by NJB // // Lafayette, CO

I am working on a new video for Nantucket E-Books, and I wanted it to have captions.

Sony Vegas Pro 12 makes it fairly easy to caption videos, in fact, I used it to caption a whole feature film.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t working tonight. I could get Vegas to export captions in a .sub file, but YouTube needs .srt files.

To fix this, I made a script to re-format .sub captions as .srt. You can find it here. I hope any video editors out there will find this useful.

I have also updated my code page with a link to the converter. The script is licensed under the GPL Version 3 or later.
